We Help Inventors Turn Ideas Into Success. Espacenet: free access to millions of patent documents. Find out if your invention is unique or if other inventors have filed patent applications that are considered to be prior art. It contains data on more than 1million patent documents from around the world.


You can search in the full text of all these applications. New EP applications are normally added to the database every Wednesday (after 1hrs). They are available in the worldwide database shortly afterwards.


Classification Search mask. When patents are classified in a classification scheme on the basis of their technical content, they are easier to manage and to search. As part of the classification process, they are assigned classification symbols, which you can use to help you carry out more efficient searches on a given technical subject.


Professional Patent Search. Advanced search is the best option if you want to search in the bibliographic data and the abstract (where available) and to combine various search terms. Being a powerful tool used by professional patent searchers, it can take a while to get used to, but it is usually worth the effort.


It has a user-friendly interface available in almost all European languages. The WIPO Centralized Access to Search and Examination (CASE) system enables patent offices to securely share search and examination documentation related to patent applications, facilitating a more effective and efficient international examination process. To find what you are looking for, you can search by keyword(s) in the field at the top of this page. Please choose your keywords carefully to avoid getting too many. Global Patent Index (GPI) GPI is a powerful online tool that enables you to perform complex expert patent searches in a secure environment. In the Smart search mask you can enter your query with or without field identifiers.
