The core built-in types for manipulating binary data are bytes and bytearray. They are supported by memoryview which uses the buffer protocol to access the memory of other binary objects without needing to make a copy. The array module supports efficient storage of basic data types like 32-bit integers and IEEE7double-precision floating values.

The string module contains a number of useful constants and classes, as well as some deprecated legacy functions that are also available as methods on strings. You need to use int (s) to convert a string or number to an integer. Values of n less than are treated as (which yields an empty sequence of the same type as s). With this site we try to show you the most common use-cases covered by the old and new style string formatting API with practical examples.
